Cross-strand dependencies. The strands are not independent — some concepts
depend on progress in another strand entirely:
- Multiplication (N) → area (M), arrays, and the scaling of fractions (F).
- Place value & the ×10/÷10 relationship (N) → decimals (F) and metric-unit conversion (M).
- The number line (N) → fractions-as-numbers (F), negative numbers (N6), coordinates (P).
- Fractions (F) → ratio, proportion & percentages → probability quantification (R6).
- Counting & patterns (A) → sequences & the nth term (A6); equality → equations.
- Systematic counting / combinatorics (D) underpins probability quantification (R6).
- Symmetry & tiling (P) and shape properties (G) → the natural bridge to generative art.
